From Presidential Spokesperson Ernie Abella – On the launch of the OFW ID

Today, July 12, we are launching the iDOLE, the identification card for millions of overseas Filipino workers.

This is a project of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), together with its partner agencies, which include the Social Security System (SSS), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), PhilPost among others.

OFWs who carry this ID would mean that his documents have been legally processed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

The processing of the iDOLE would be shouldered by the employers; hence, OFWs need not pay for the cost of the ID, which would be delivered by PhilPost to their respective addresses.
