The government is willing to offer reward money to know the identity of corrupt officials and expose anomalous government projects and deals as the Duterte administration intensified its fight against graft and corruption in the government.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte recently tasked the Department of Justice (DOJ) to carry out bureaucracy-wide corruption probe as he vowed to zero in on corruption in the last two years of his term.
“Pakiusapan ko na lang ‘yung lahat. Kayong walang mga trabaho, kayong mga casual ilang taon na, all you have to do is to let me know and may prize ako. Pagka mayroon kang malaki, if it’s a malaking sindikato, ghost project ni director p***** i**, I will — I will give you 50,000. Ibulong mo lang, maski sino,” the President said in offering the reward during a public address.
“‘Pag malaking mga contract, huwag mo nang sabihin pangalan mo. Ibulong mo lang na niluluto ‘yan, I’ll give you 100,000 and I will keep your identity secret until I reach my grave. Hindi ko kayo bubukuhin, hindi ko kayo ipapasubo.”
The government will also give protection to those who will provide tips on corruption in the bureaucracy, according to the President.
Also, President Duterte warned corrupt officials saying they are not indispensable while they are in position.
“You know, kayong mga — do not ever think that you are indispensable in the scheme of things sa gobyerno. Maraming Pilipino diyan na mga graduate na mahuhusay na may — honest,” he said.
“Marami ‘yang walang trabaho ngayon. Kaya kayong taga-gobyerno may trabaho, take care of your position. Do not allow even a dent of anomaly na dumaan sa opisina mo.”
The President made a new disclosure of names of personnel and officials from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) who are facing corruption charges or are under investigation. PND
