On the SWS Q2 2021 survey of personal freedom of speech

The latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey shows an improvement of net personal freedom to speak freely against President Rodrigo Roa Duterte from +5 in May 2021 to +18 in June 2021.

The President believes in freedom of speech and free marketplace of ideas, and he has demonstrated this in his entire public career. As a public official, the Chief Executive has not filed a libel case against his critics.

The President simply focuses on his work with the welfare of the Filipinos foremost in his mind.

As PRRD often said, quoting President Abraham Lincoln, “If I were try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the very end. If the end brings me out all right, what’s said against me won’t amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference.”
